Nicolas Pecher

Nicolas Pecher is a registered Belgian and European patent attorney. After graduating as a mechanical and electrical engineer, he started his professional career as a teaching assistant and a researcher in development cooperation at the university of Zaire (Congo now), then at the university of Brussels (ULB), at the theoretical nuclear physics department. He then worked as a consultant in industrial automation, carrying out projects in many types of industries (energy transport and distribution, nuclear power, iron and steel, telecommunication). In 1996, he moved towards intellectual property and obtained the qualification of European and Belgian Patent Attorney. Very successful, acquiring a particular experience in litigations with regards to the infringement of patents in both Europe and the United States, he set up and developed his own company. Today, he runs it in partnership with Christophe de Groote.

Nicolas is a keen sportsman. He successfully participated in the 2005 New York marathon.

Christophe de Groote

Christophe de GROOTE is a registered European patent attorney and an electrical and electronic engineer.
He started his career in the nuclear industry, as a developer of machine-vision based automatic quality control systems. He then worked with a major Japanese car manufacturer, particularly in the field of advanced electronic systems and alternative propulsion systems. After this 15 year-long industrial experience, he joined a major private intellectual property practice where he occupied the position of patent counsel and head of the patent department. Being currently the managing partner of Pecher Consultants, his extensive expertise, in the technical as well as in the judicial and economical fields, allows him to advise a broad range of clients in the field of intellectual property. His expertise in patent litigation (counterfeiting) is also significant.

Well acquainted with the Japanese culture, Christophe particularly appreciates the Japanese art of cooking. Enduro, skiing, photography and gardening are part of his favourite leisure activities.

François Leca

Holding a PhD in Chemical Sciences, François devoted his time to a postdoctorate in biocatalysis at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung. He then redirected his career towards intellectual property, and started working at the technology transfer company of the Université Catholique de Louvain where he was in charge of the management and valorization of a varied patent portfolio in the field of chemistry, materials science and nanotechnology. After this first experience, he worked for a major private intellectual property practice before joining Pecher Consultants in 2009.

Samuel Denis

Samuel is a physicist engineer. Holding a PhD in engineering, he acquired a profound expertise in electrical measurements, sensors, electromagnetism and materials science. This turned out to be very useful when he became a project manager in an SME developing precision-made measurement devices for the metal industry. He then worked for the technology transfer office of the University of Liège before joining Pecher Consultants.

Musically educated, Samuel specially appreciates practicing the violin.

Herve Le Quéré

PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology as well as graduated in intellectual property from the C.E.I.P.I. at the university of Strasbourg, Hervé Le Quéré has a deep working experience in research laboratory when he joins Pecher Consultants in order to become a patent counsel. His knowledge comprises cellular therapy, genetics, neuroscience, vegetal and animal physiology, biochemistry and immunology.


Languages: French, English, knowledge of German. Hervé Le Quéré loves classical authors and rock-and-roll. He is keen doing sports in the nature such as windsurfing and climbing.

Maud Verheyleweghen

Graduated as an executive secretary, Maud Verheyleweghen specialised in intellectual property, joining a patent attorney firm where she worked for 6 years, acquiring an expertise in patents and supplementary protection certificates. Ten years later, it was as a Paralegal that she joined the team of Pecher Consultants, in charge of the administration of patent files. In between, she worked for 4 years in the technology transfer company of the university of Louvain-la-Neuve (UCL) where she handled the whole patent portfolio of the university.

Maud likes to relax by swimming or playing djembe; she also writes poems from time to time.

Luce Cadranel

Master in Economics from the university of Brussels ((U.L.B), Luce’s previous professional experiences focused mainly in the supply of computing services to multinationals both in Belgium and abroad. As the Office & External Relations Manager at Pecher Consultants, she now ensures the smooth daily operation of the firm and seeks to develop its reputation and scope.
In addition to French, she works in English and in Spanish.
As an unconditional yoga enthusiast, she devotes 15 minutes every morning to it, whatever happens. Luce also participates in the publishing of books made of memoirs based on interviews.
